Housing

The City strives to enhance the quality of life for the community by increasing, improving, and preserving affordable housing in Half Moon Bay. The City is committed to the production of housing that directly supports our residents, with the primary focus on our:

  • Farmworkers
  • Service workers
  • Older adults
  • Unhoused
  • Individuals, families and households with special needs.

Through the City’s Housing Element, our housing goals are supported by thoughtful policy strategies and actionable implementation programs. These activities represent the City’s obligation, mandated by California Housing Law, to foster development and preservation of diverse housing types. The City’s Housing staff facilitate production and preservation of affordable housing to help families achieve multi-generation goals, seniors age with dignity, formerly homeless find safe, permanent homes, and vulnerable populations achieve housing security.
